Sunfish

The 13’9” Sunfish has a 75sq. ft. sail that is lateen rigged.The hull weighs approximately 130lbs. More than 300,000 Sunfish have been built, making it the most widely built and sailed boat in the world. Many Sunfish are sailed just for recreation, but it may be the most world-wide racing sailboat, with 72 competitors sailing in the 2014 World Championship. Mission Bay Yacht Club also has this diversity – recreational sailors, local racing sailors, and world racing competitors. There is usually an extra boat for guests.
